First-time-flyer

Every rc airplane pilot starts out as a first-time-flyer. High wing trainers are the suggested rc airplane models you should learn to fly.

They are idea for beginners new to the hobby of radio control airplane flying. Although there are several sophisticated model designs to choose from you need a aircraft that's right for your level of experience.

First RC Airplane

As your first rc airplane, you have the choice between a quiet electric which is powered by a rechargeable battery pack, motor and speed control.

The other choice is a glow engine that uses a nitromethane fuel for power.

Electric airplanes are great if you do not like the noise of a glow engine. Many come prebuilt (Almost ready to fly) factory built needing only final assembly.

On the other hand glow engine aircraft come as ARF or RTF (Ready to fly) meaning the airplane is completely built.

Many of these aircraft come with engine, radio accessories and everything to fly.

Airplane Kit

Now your third option is a kit version, it has to be built with balsa wood. Kits consist of balsa wood, wheels, hardware and instruction manuel.

If you are a beginner pilot who would prefer to build your first rc aircraft. This option will suit your needs. However, it will require time to build a radio control airplane, such as three weeks to a month or longer.

Building a rc airplane from a kit, allows you to acquire skills that will be needed for repairing your aircraft in the event of a crash. As your building skills increase, you will desire to build more advance radio control airplanes!
